NO WESTJET STRIKE – RETURN TO REGULAR FLIGHT SCHED

Suncor has been advised by WestJet, late evening on May 18, 2023, that WestJet and the Airline Pilots Associations (ALPA) reached an agreement. At this time, WestJet is returning to regular operations within the next 24 – 48 hours. Suncor FIFO charter flights will continue to operate on regular schedule effective Monday May 22, 2023.

 Impacts to Suncor fly-in/fly-out charter flight program:

1. FIFO charter flights will continue to operate as regularly scheduled, effective Monday May 22, and there is no action required from travel coordinators or passengers.
2. All Suncor FIFO charter flight passenger communication will continue through existing channels and will be posted on SunLink 

1. Continue to use online check-in 24 hours prior to flights when they receive their email prompt from WestJet
2. Continue to report to their designated charter flight hub airport (Calgary YYC, Edmonton YEG, Saskatoon YXE) a minimum of 90 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure time
3. Review SUNLINK for flight schedules and available status updates
4. FIFO passengers with connecting commercial flights should review commercial flight status with their air carrier prior to their scheduled flight
