WestJet Aircraft Maintenance labour update June 26

WestJet and their aircraft maintenance engineer group, represented by AMFA, are proceeding towards arbitration for a first collective agreement with support from the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

A 72-hour strike notification has been filed, indicating intent for a work stoppage as early as Friday, June 28 at 5:30 p.m. MT. This 72-hour notice does not mean travel disruption will occur.

Business continuity plans are in place and there is no anticipated impact to Suncor FIFO charter flights operated by WestJet. No FIFO passenger action is required at this time and the charter flight schedule remains status quo.

For Suncor travellers with a WestJet commercial flight booked between June 20 and June 27, there are no anticipated impacts at his time. WestJet will communicate directly to passengers any flight time or gate changes
