WestJet potential strike in Calgary and Vancouver

Suncor is aware that WestJet workers at the Calgary and Vancouver airports have voted in favour of a strike action if a new contract cannot be reached. The union (Unifor) represents Customer Service, Delayed/Lost Baggage Desk and Guest Service Leads. Read more details here.

They are continuing their negotiations and there could be a potential strike action as early as July 27. Suncor is monitoring the situation.

Suncor has contingency plans in place that focus on safety and the continuity of our business operations.

Suncor FIFO flight passengers do not need to take any action. Check-in, boarding and delayed/lost baggage processes remain the same as usual.

Please continue to check-in online or in person at the WestJet counter between doors 2 and 3 at Calgary (YYC) Airport.

Note that there are no planned changes to Suncor charter flight schedules. Edmonton (YEG), Saskatoon (YXE) and Firebag (YFI) Airports are not impacted by potential WestJet labour action in any way.
