Updated process for seat tracking on coach buses

We would like to thank everyone for their feedback and patience as we continue to roll out this new protocol. This is a fluid situation and we are always continuously monitoring and assessing areas for improvement.

Starting Thursday, July 2, we will still begin tracking seat positions on all Diversified coach buses at Base Plant, however we have made a few changes.

Here’s how it will work:

  1. Buses will be loaded from back to front, starting with the driver’s side, skipping every other row.
  2. After the driver side is filled, passengers will be loaded from back to front on the other side, continuing to skip every other row.
  3. Once every other row is filled, the process will repeat filling in the empty rows (back to front with driver’s side first).
  4. Stay in the same seat throughout your trip.

The ability to provide close contact tracing on buses/coaches is aligned with the requirements from Alberta Health Services (AHS) and with our industry partners within the RMWB. This will meet the need to identify close contacts in the event someone is confirmed COVID-19 positive on a bus or coach.

The protocols we have in place are for your health and safety. As the province starts to lift some restrictions, it is critical that we continue our efforts to help #STOPTHESPREAD both on and off-site. As a reminder, mask usage is mandatory at all times while on buses. There is no lessening of AHS requirements or our COVID-19 protocols.

Thank you for your patience and support as we roll out these new protcols for the safety and health of everyone at out sites.
