CATSA Plus at Edmonton International Airport

A new security screening system will be implemented for all travellers at the Edmonton International Airport between winter 2018 and spring 2019.

Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) Plus is a new concept that combines the latest equipment, technology and processes and has been successfully tested by CATSA at various airports over the last few years.

CATSA Plus allows four people at a time to place their belongings in bins so you don’t have to wait for the person in front of you. It also provides more space for you to get your belongings back so you won’t feel pressured by the person behind you.

CATSA Plus has remote X-Ray screeners and automated tracking of bins so the belt doesn’t have to go back and forth. 

Please continue to arrive a recommended 90 minutes prior to flight departure time to ensure appropriate time for security processing during this transition period.
